Lockheed Martin is looking for world-class talent to join our historic Skunk Works Operations Analysis team. The team is seeking a candidate who can apply critical thinking, mathematical and engineering-based techniques, and software engineering processes to develop simulations and advanced analytical methods. We need a candidate who is passionate about working on cutting-edge design concepts and technology; driven to learn and explore new areas; enjoys being part of a team, and thinks strategically and creatively with proven analytical and problem-solving skills.

As a member of a high-performing, virtual team, the successful candidate must demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills as the position will require frequent interactions and collaboration with team members, project leads, leadership, and customers. The ability to work in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team environment is critical. The ability to travel on occasion is required.

The selected candidate will be responsible for the design, development, and testing of simulations representing military systems and operations. Working with a team of analysts and software developers, the selected candidate will be responsible to research, develop and test algorithms; develop or integrate software to include design, code, and test; documentation; and interface with end users. The candidate will be expected to follow software engineering processes and principles; as well as work directly with analysts to understand the simulation application in order to identify performance and analytical improvements. Opportunities are also available for candidate to apply the developed simulations in order to derive operational and system requirements, evaluate vehicle survivability, air combat effectiveness, and assess systems of systems concepts and military utility.

Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information

This position can be filled in either Marietta GA, Palmdale Ca, or FT Worth Texas

- Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access


Basic Qualifications
• Bachelors or above degree from an accredited college in related technical discipline
• Proficiency with JAVA, C, C++, or other object oriented design language
• Ability to obtain US government clearance AND eventually a Secret with the ability to obtain a SAP/SAR clearance

Desired skills
• Engineering, mathematics, or computer science degree preferred
• Demonstrated scientific, analytical, and mathematical skills to solve complex technical problems
• Experience in software design & integration; with knowledge of object oriented design & software version control
• Scripting language experience (Perl/Python)
• Experience modeling air vehicle, sensor or weapon system capabilities & behaviors in simulations
• Mathematical or engineering skills to code and test algorithms representing systems, environment, & operations
• Knowledge of surface and airborne military systems, operations, and Integrated Air Defense Systems (IADS)
• Knowledge of radar or electronic warfare systems a plus
• Experience with operations analysis Monte Carlo simulations (AFSIM, Brawler, ESAMS, EADSIM)
• Good written and verbal communication skills; presentation experience a plus
• Experience working on virtual development team
• Active DoD Secret or Top Secret Clearance with a current background investigation preferred
