This opportunity is within the Sensors and Electromagnetic Applications Laboratory (SEAL) Lab.  SEAL researchers investigate and develop radio/microwave frequency sensor systems, with particular emphasis on radar systems engineering; electronic protection and electronic attack; ELINT; COMINT; MASINT; electromagnetic environmental effects; radar system performance modeling and simulation; signal, array, and data processing; sensor fusion; and antenna technology. http://www.gtri.gatech.edu/seal

Opportunity:
We have multiple opportunities for software engineers within the Sensor Software Architecture (S2A) group in Atlanta, Georgia. The S2A group mission is to provide world class software to be used in sensor, signal processing, electronic warfare and intelligence surveillance reconnaissance (ISR) systems deployed on land, air and sea. Our software team employs a modern software engineering process to design, code, integrate and test capabilities on a continuous basis resulting in a mature and quality solution for our customers. We strive for technical excellence by drawing upon a diverse workforce whose knowledge base covers the complete spectrum of modern computing languages and platforms.

The successful candidates will be involved in software design, development, integration, and testing of real-time systems and working as a team with the hardware and algorithm engineers.. Our real-time software applications are developed using C, C++ and CUDA and our forensic applications utilizes Java programming languages running on a variety of computing platforms running Linux and Windows operating systems. The S2A utilizes productive modern and industry proven software development environments.

The candidate will be an active engineering participant on the project team, performing development tasks independently and will provide developed and tested software capabilities. This successful candidate will perform software development for various types of software functionality (Web, implement a specific algorithm, hardware interfaces and networking).


Required Skills:
•    Experience with C, C++ or Java 
•    Experience Linux or UNIX 
•    Knowledge of computer architectures including multi-core environments
•    Familiarity with software applications requiring multi-threaded programming implementation   
Desired Skills:
•    Existing secret clearance, or the ability to obtain an interim clearance within 30 days and full clearance thereafter 
•    Good verbal and written communication skills 
•    Self-starter and ability to work in a team environment 
•    Experience with Object-Oriented Design Knowledge including UML 
•    Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or Software Engineering 
Required Education (Including Major):
•    BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or Software Engineering 

US Citizenship is required
