Description: The Robotics and Autonomous Systems Division (RASD) at the Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) is looking for a Software Development co-op student who is self-motivated and interested in gaining real world experience. The student will provide software testing, development, and other support, specifically for research on Collaborative Autonomy and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, along with other GTRI/ATAS projects, as directed by the engineering and software staff. This team primarily develops autonomy algorithms for unmanned aircraft, performs software and hardware-in-the-loop testing, and live flight testing. Duties may include software and system testing, development and design, assembly of components/systems, performing experiments, formal creation and follow-up for development issues/bugs, software and system documentation, assisting with field tests/demos, and other technical tasks appropriate for the skill level of an engineering/software student.
This posting is for a Coop student starting in the Summer 2017 or Fall 2017. For this position we are primarily interested in a standard repeating semester-on/semester-off co-op, though internships may be possible for very exceptional students. We will be reviewing resumes and interviewing immediately.
3.0 GPA required; Required fields of study are computer science, electrical engineering, computer engineering, aerospace engineering, or robotics/mechatronics, and in all cases the student must have a strong focus or background in software development. Prior robotics experience is a plus, but not required.
