Job Details

Reports directly to the TSSC Configuration Manager for Configuration Software Management on the C-130J MATS Program. The Software CM primary responsibility is to build and maintain Maintenance and Aircrew Training Device hardware, Radar/Visual database and software baselines. The Software CM provides Configuration Management support to the Design Request and Instructional Change Request tracking system in MasterControl and provides status to the Configuration Working Group, prepares the minutes, and provides status reports to the Corrective Action Board. Maintains the Software Configuration Management System including collection or distribution of the latest baseline documentation, problem report and change request processing, software build documents, using MasterControl to track the Design Change and Load Build process. Reviews and analyzes released engineering change data via the DC Process and coordinates changes with engineering, quality, support, production, and engineering data control activities. Ensures that customer requirements are implemented and reviews change accounting activity to ensure compliance with configuration management policies and to ensure new software products comply with standard hardware configurations and are logistically sustainable. Maintains productivity tools using programming, database or scripting languages to improve software updates and development and to support SIMCERT. Designs and implements build procedures to insure ATD device is in compliance with latest configuration. Assist CM with system administrative functions in MasterControl. Builds and edits document routes, modify steps in the route, add and disable users, creates and edits document vaults, creates and modify infocards. Tracks cradle to grave lifecycle of Instructional Change Request (ICR), Design Changes (DC), REDDOCs, CDs, and AADs. Assists CM in changing and updated COIs and WIs through the Process Change Request (PCR) process. Contributes to the completion of trainer deliveries to include software issues on devices in production. Provides C-130J MATS Software and Visual/Radar Database load updates and revisions for all C130J MATS fielded devices, to include the USMC. Provide Configuration direction and support to the C-130J MATS program while using TSSC resources to provide the best training system possible. Maintains current offsite disaster library with the latest training baseline. Performs yearly site visits to maintain fielded devices to current software configuration
International Travel is required

Basic Qualifications
Ability to develop documentation, instructions, and presentations required.

Ability to develop software scripts for Windows/Unix environments.

Languages could consist of Unix Shell Script, Linux, MS Visual Basic, MS Visual C++ and others

Should be familiar with military and industry configuration management standards.

Requires understanding of technical principles, theories and concepts, including the interrelated disciplines of Configuration Management and Change Management.


Must be capable of attaining a SECRET clearance

Desired skills
Working knowledge of Configuration Management software desired.

Familiarity with C-130J simulator systems preferred.

Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, required and Visio desired.

Knowledge of MasterControl, databases and computer operations desired
