Job Details

Provide software design and consulting services to clients for full life cycle of development from planning, requirement gathering, analysis, design, development, testing, implementation and support. Detailed duties include: Conduct thorough study and analysis of business processes and interact with business customers to gather, identify, ascertain and define client’s needs and requirements in software applications, and ensure the best applications will be designed and developed in accordance with client’s organizational policies, procedures, and other business requirements. Write business requirements
and communicate them with team members. Design, develop, implement and support batch/online mainframe applications. Analyst, design, test and implement enhancement and corrections of software design. Analyze existing software systems and the impact and compatibility of new features. Develop technical and functional specifications. Provide solution delivery methodology artifacts associated with application components. Translate requirements and functional specifications into test cases, ensure that test cases cover all testable business requirements. Write code and conduct code reviews. Develop and execute in unit test plans and scripts to validate the assigned modules satisfying technical specifications. Participate in integration testing. Participate in technical inspections at appropriate stages of development. Ensure that software design is in compliance with client’s technology standards, governance processes and performance metrics. Provide post implementation and enhancement support after the projects is implements. Keep abreast of emerging information technologies and provide recommendations regarding technology, vendors, outside consultants and trading partners. Use COBOL, JCL, DB2, SQL, IMS, CICS, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Access, UNIX, VSAM, FTP, Control-M, RMS and IBM Mainframe.

Master or its foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Applications, Computer Information Systems, Electrical Engineering or Electronic Engineering. Will accept a 3-year of foreign Master's degree following a 3-year Bachelor's degree if the Master's degree is equivalent to a U.S. Master's degree according to AACRAO EDGE. 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation as a Software Engineer, Associate Consultant, computer Programmer or Programmer Analyst. The required 2 years of experience must include experience using/utilizing COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, FTP and Control-M. Any suitable combination of education, training, or experience is acceptable. The employer is located in Troy, Michigan but the job location is unanticipated client sites in the U.S.; therefore, travel and/or relocation is required.
