GTRI’s Applied Systems Laboratory is seeking a mid- to senior-level software engineer with at least 5 years of experience in Unified Modeling Language (UML) modeling and Java development. The qualified applicant will become a member of the Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) Software Directorate as a key component to develop and maintain the IAMD A/B Interface and Interface Control Documentation.


Job Duties:

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Designing, developing, and maintaining Java Applications to support custom UML model output;
  • Providing on-site support to the government customer;
  • Serving as technical point of contact between IAMD Project Office directorates and major stakeholders;
  • Providing technical oversight of tactical network interface models;
  • Providing technical expertise on tactical network interface HW and SW.


Job Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or a related field is required;
  • At least five years of professional work experience in Software Engineering;
  • Familiarity with all phases of software lifecycle development including requirements baselining, code testing, and validation;
  • Ability to read and understand large object-oriented codebases;
  • Familiarity with modern UML tools is a must;
  • The candidate must be self-motivated, possess leadership and communication skills, and be capable of working in a multi-tasking environment;
  • Knowledge of Wireshark, network communications protocols, and Data Distribution Service is also a plus;
  • An active SECRET clearance (or higher) is required.


Job Travel:

Little to no travel is expected.
