Job Details

The successful candidate will be addressing a system combining three major algorithm areas. Missile Warning, unresolved target sanitization and tracking (IRST mode), and image stitching multiple sensors together to support a heads-up display for the user. This task is to analyze and define the Missile Warning signal algorithm requirements which includes analyzing existing MWS algorithm designs and the new MWS performance requirements, in order to ensure a design and approach that meets the overall system requirements. This includes collaborating with subject matter experts within Lockheed Martin to ensure a robust design. Candidate will work as part of a team in reviewing Flight Performance, identifying improvement needs, and determining best solution. Simulation updates to improve analysis capability will also be involved. Candidate should have experience developing and integrating signal and image processing algorithms, as well as experience in target modeling for use in insertion of targets onto synthetic or flight test data. Candidate will use that data to predict performance and tune the algorithms. Candidate should have experience using MATLAB and C/C++

Basic Qualifications
Image and signal processing assignments require a simulation and algorithm specialist with optical image phenomenology experience. A Image and Signal Processing engineer designs algorithms for scene/target signal or image enhancement and scene image correlation for multi-sensor fusion. Image processing with video imagery from infrared and visible sensors is required. EO related target discrimination algorithms are designed and modified to meet low false alarm rate requirements with high target detection, recognition, and classification capability. Algorithms are optimized to meet memory and throughput capabilities of the processing hardware. Flight test data to assess performance and enhance algorithms is captured and processed. Verification of compliance to customer requirements is confirmed via simulation, and via analysis of test data. Signal and Image Processing engineers routinely work with embedded software engineers to ensure algorithms are appropriately implemented and verified
Image and signal processing engineer with skills in C++ and MATLAB. Generally, this position requires a working knowledge of image enhancement, detection and correlation techniques and experience in design and analysis of image processing algorithms. Experience working with MATLAB and C++ simulations using collected data and synthetic data. Simulation development experience is needed for this position. Strong math skills are required for this position

Desired skills
Experience with multi-sensor data fusion is a plus. Understanding of inertial tracking is also desired. Candidate should be very capable with C++ and MATLAB
