MITRE's Communications, SIGINT & PNT Department is looking for individuals with an understanding of SIGINT and EW mission applications,
infrastructure, hardware, and software for both ground and airborne platform systems. 
This fast-paced Army program has a broad and dynamic set of projects that focus
on research engineering, systems engineering, agile acquisition, cyber
security, experimentation toward implementing electronic warfare capabilities.
We are seeking innovative and energetic engineers to collaborate closely with
our sponsors and team to identify critical problems and develop approaches to
address them. Ideally, this candidate is a technical leader in their specific
SIGINT capability area (e.g., phased-arrays, receiver design, custom
waveforms, signal processing and/or demodulation, encryption, etc.).  Preference will be given to those candidates who understand SIGINT and EW requirements, policies, and
authorities.  However, introductory level knowledge is acceptable for
candidates possessing the core skills that have shown the ability to work
independently and rapidly learn new concepts.
 Work
responsibilities include:

  • System
    engineering function to inform, guide, and implement our sponsors SIGINT and
    EW modernization strategy to include advising on acquisition strategy and
    contract language to ensure maximum value for the government
  • Serve
    as independent technical advisor on government SIGINT and EW working groups
  • Ability
    to build strong relationships within MITRE internal resource organizations to
    provide the government with critical subject matter expertise as needed
  • Act
    as an interface to remote engineering teams to support development and system
    analysis activities
  • Influence
    the sponsors, MITREs, and the greater EW communitys long-term, strategic
    technical development for specific missions
  • Coordinate
    with related sponsors to understand their SIGINT investment strategies and
    enable cross-sponsor engagement

Position
requires to be onsite with the government at Fort Brag with the need to travel
to other locations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of DSP
    concepts and communication technologies
  • Working knowledge of
    communications theory including waveforms, modulation design, signal
    propagation
  • Understanding of system
    performance analysis
  • Experience in laboratory
    testing and experimentation
  • programming experience in Matlab, and at least one of Python and or C/C++
    programming



Preferred Qualifications:



  • MS or PhD in EE, mathematics,
    or physics
  • Familiarity with
    communications analysis tools
  • Real time threading and
    processing architectures

Minimum Qualifications:
  • BS and 8 years related experience.
