We are seeking an individual with an understanding of SIGINT and EW infrastructure, hardware, and software, and programs for both ground and air systems. Ideally, this candidate is a technical leader in their specific SIGINT capability area (e.g., phased-array arrays, receiver design, custom waveforms, signal processing and/or demodulation, encryption, etc.) and has a solid understanding of SIGINT and EW requirements, policies, and authorities. An introductory level knowledge is acceptable for candidates that have shown the ability to work independently and rapidly learn new concepts.


Key functions for this position are:
inform, guide, and implement SIGINT and EW modernization strategies
serve as an independent advisor on SIGINT and EW working groups
facilitate reach back into MITRE technical capabilities to support sponsor development requirements and technology-specific solutions to critical deficiencies
advise on CDRLs/acquisition language to ensure government rights to key software and hardware
influence long-term strategic technical development for specific missions
coordinate with other sponsors to understand their SIGINT investment strategies and enable cross-sponsor engagement


 













Required skills for this position include:
strong understanding of DSP concepts and communication technologies
working knowledge of communications theory including waveforms, modulation design, signal propagation
understanding of system performance analysis
experience in laboratory testing and experimentation
be an effective communicator with good writing and presentation skills
Matlab and C/C++ programming

Preferred skills
Additionally, the following skills are also desired:
MS or PhD in EE, mathematics, or physics
familiarity with communications analysis tools
real time threading and processing architectures
