The candidate will be the functional manager responsible for overseeing a team of personnel responsible for installation of AEGIS Ballistic Missile Defense equipment to include planning, documentation, and execution (to include serving as an Alteration Installation Team (AIT) lead as-required) aboard US Navy ships. The candidate will be required to perform and lead a team tasked with the installation of Ordnance Alterations (ORDALTS) and repairs to the AN/SPY-1B/D radar signal processor and AEGIS Weapon System peripherals equipment; perform component level repairs and modifications in support of the Ballistic Missile Defense upgrades; assess and validate or revise current BMD cable installation plans, schedules, and cable termination schedules, to ensure achievement of BMD systems installation and test milestones; provide daily coordination and communication with various Lockheed Martin Ship Integration and Test (SI&T) AIT team leads, logistic personnel, system engineers, government project engineers, and various shipyard personnel; coordinate with SI&T AIT team leads for the approach and prioritization of cable installation (both copper and fiber cables) to support BMD requirements and schedules; review or update Quality Assurance plans for each alteration being installed; ensure BMD lessons learned relative to cable installation, termination and test are identified and implemented in the cable termination and test program; coordinate cable termination and test plans, procedures, and schedules with government Onsite Installation Coordinators (OSICs) and SI&T AIT leads, including daily callouts, test support, and QA documentation; coordinate documentation completion (redlined ship installation drawings, test reports, problem reports) to support SI&T electrical equipment installation and test efforts and ensure all cable installations and terminations comply with all Military Standards (MIL-STD), ship and program requirements

Basic Qualifications
The candidate must have experience with Shipboard Alteration (SHIPALT)/ORDALT installations; possess the skills required to plan, execute, and develop documentation required to complete electronic equipment installations aboard US Navy ships; knowledge of cable termination and test processes; experience working in a shipyard environment with relevant Quality Assurance experience; have a thorough knowledge of NAVSEA AIT standard items; and the ability to communicate with various levels of internal and external management, customers, and suppliers

Desired skills
The candidate should have recent experience installing Aegis Weapon System and Ballistic Missile Defense SHIPALTS and ORDALTS (AN/SPY-1 Signal Processor installations preferred); possess experience with performing shipboard copper and fiber cable termination and testing (MIL-STD certifications are preferred); experience working on Ballistic Missile Defense related projects; and experience with the Regional Maintenance and Modernization Coordination Office (RMMCO) check-in and check-out procedure
