The Systems Security Engineering (SSE) department (T886) within the Systems Engineering Technical Center (SETC) is seeking a highly motivated technical engineer and leader to advance the Navy Assured Command and Control capability through the advanced application of systems security engineering.  This is an exciting opportunity in San Diego, CA.


Key Functions:

  • Develop and propose concepts and requirements that support resilient assured command and control architecture

  • Conduct research, application development, experiments, and prototypes that support enhancing maritime systems resiliency and protections 

  • Coordinate and support technical work between various Navy program offices, integration laboratories, and experimentation/testing activities

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS STEM field and 3 years of related experience required for consideration. 

  • Knowledge of enterprise network monitoring, management, and control in alignment with ITIL v3

  • Knowledge of and experience in satellite communications

  • Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Expertise in IT service delivery and IT integration

  • Desire to learn and work with a broad range of cyber and space protection engineering subject matter experts and apply resilience concepts to space asset protection applications

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI SSBI level security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of and experience in Maritime Operations and Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command Systems Engineering Process

  • Demonstrated ability to build partnerships and champion technical development in this area

  • Track record of good operations or engineering judgment under pressure

  • Track record of collaboration, leveraging existing knowledge, and knowledge sharing
