This position supports the Orion SEIT Fault Management team in the design, test and verification of the off nominal operations of the Orion Spacecraft

The work will focus on Fault detection Isolation and recovery within Orion software and hardware. This includes failure mode analysis of the hardware, review of FMEAs/Hazard reports, requirements development, algorithm development, fault data population, data validation and test and verification of the integrated algorithms

Candidate will be responsible for ensuring products for subsystems are built correctly, tested and verified across a variety of test beds. Will be required to develop algorithms locally in a Python environment before developing test procedures, utilizing Automation Framework, and execute tests in the Orion test labs. The selected applicant will be responsible for performing post test data analysis. Candidate should be willing to travel to support tests at Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The candidate must be able to integrate across multiple disciplines (for example HW, SW, ops, reliability, CPEs, etc) and to autonomously / proactively to seek out the required data to develop all of the above

Basic Qualifications
- BS or higher degree from an accredited college in Engineering, or Computer Science or related discipline
- Systems engineering experience including requirements derivation, verification and test
- Basic hands on trouble shooting experience
- Test environment experience and in meeting aggressive schedules and delivery milestones
- Experience interacting with external stakeholders including other contractors and customers
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to explain issues at both a technical and non-technical level

Desired skills
- Fault management experience
- Experience in the design development and integration of embedded software systems
- Experience in the development phase of a spacecraft
- Human spaceflight and/or Orion experience is a plus
- Familiarity of Automation Framework, Oracle database, Linux or Unix operating systems is a plus
- DOORs experience
- Software coding / scripting (C, C++, Perl, Python)
