Description: Job Description: This position is for a Systems Engineer who will lead a technical team to design, implement, manage, maintain, deploy, troubleshoot and support complex C41 environments based on hyper-converged architectures.  responsible for providing subject matter expertise to assist in the execution of engineering objectives, developing innovative solutions to technical challenges, as well as providing guidance and support to the engineering teams.  The candidate will have a superior understanding of applicable government and commercial technical guidance and best-practices and significant experience with the government requirements development/management, verification and validation and configuration management processes and supporting applications. The candidate will have exceptional written and verbal communication, be independent, be able to adapt to a changing project landscape, and capable of learning new technologies to support team objectives. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of being a problem solver and team player who is capable of working in a technically challenging environment.


Research Scientist I

This is the initial rank held by research personnel who have at least a bachelor's degree and who will be performing on a professional level.

Research Scientist II

  • A Master’s degree and three (3) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of that degree,
  • A Master’s degree and five (5) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelor’s degree, or
  • A Doctoral degree.


  • Required: B.S. degree in an Engineering, Math, or applicable technical discipline from an accredited university
  • Desired:  M.S. in a technical discipline such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or Math


  • Security+ or CISSP Certification


  • Required:  US citizen with Secret clearance
  • Desired:  US citizen with Top Secret clearance


  • Required:  10+ years of experience in Network Engineering
  • Desired:   10+ years working on USN and DOD systems

Required Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience leading a technical team in the designing, installing, configuring, managing, and troubleshooting complex C4I systems.
  • Developing, coordinating and implementing systems engineering plans, processes and procedures, requirements analysis, system definition and integration activities.
  • Conduct technical surveys; investigate technical issues, and determine/revise/improve technical solutions that address performance gaps and/or operational requirements.
  • Review and evaluate new or developing programs, project or initiative documentation for technical compliance against appropriate policies.
  • Track actions items resulting from technical reviews through initiation, mitigation and eventual closure.
  • Communicate closely and effectively with executives, program directors and customer or designated customer representatives. Ensure communication is efficient and effective within and between project/program teams.
  • Capability to accurately communicate  relevant project technical information to stake holders

Desired Skills:

  • Relevant technical certifications in Operating Systems, Programming Languages and/or HW appliances
  • Understanding of DOD information technology and security architectures
