Lockheed Martin is seeking a Mechanical / Structures Stress Engineer to join our creative team of engineers in Dallas Texas.

The engineer will work in a collaborative engineering environment solving complex technical challenges that require solutions which are highly innovative and quite ingenious. This exciting work will include performing research, design, analysis, evaluation, and testing in support of various program areas. This specific position is related to Mechanical / Structures Stress analysis for development or production of new aerospace products and technologies

The candidate will be responsible for performing structural (Stress and possibly Dynamics) analysis and testing of top level assemblies, subsystems, and components. Tasks include performing preliminary and detailed structural and dynamic analysis on component and assemblies using standardized processes and tools. Tasks may also include providing support for structural testing of systems, subsystems, and components. In addition, the candidate will provide technical documentation and input to data packages to support peer and customer reviews, present analysis data to program at technical interchange meetings, and design reviews.

Candidate will perform structural analysis using standardized analysis software tools and coordinate requirements and design solutions with program personnel. Responsible for research and development of viable strength, stiffness, stability, and durability solutions for systems and components. Exposure or experience with relevant analytic tools for structural and dynamics analysis

Relocation: Relocation assistance is possible for this exciting position.

The Locale: Grand Prairie is part of the “Mid-Cities” region in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex which is in the North Central region of Texas. Grand Prairie is a suburb of both Dallas and Fort Worth. The region offers a great cost of living combined with a robust economy and a pleasant climate. The Mid-Cities is the suburban region filling the thirty-mile span between Dallas and Fort Worth. These communities include the cities of Arlington, Irving, Grand Prairie, Grapevine, Southlake, Colleyville, HEB (Hurst, Euless and Bedford), NRH (North Richland Hills and Richland Hills), Haltom City, Watauga, and Keller, along with multiple other smaller towns such as Trophy Club and Roanoke and together represent more people than either Dallas or Fort Worth

Basic Qualifications
-Must be a US Citizen and have the ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret Clearance
-BS degree from an accredited college, preferably in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering
-5 years of professional experience in Mechanical Engineering, ideally focused on structural analysis
-Experience with structural analysis of assembly systems, subsystems, and components
-Strength in structural analysis with a desire to learn more and demonstrated strong problem solving and analytical skills
-Experience with core structural software (Nastran and Abaqus).
-Experience with core or second tier pre and post processing tools (Ansa, Meta, Hypermesh, Patran, and FEMAP)
-Experience analyzing and testing structural assemblies and sub-assemblies made from a multitude of structural materials used in the aerospace industry
-Experience with Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, Word, and PowerPoint). -Excellent writing and verbal communication skills for generating structural analysis plans, structural analysis reports, documentation, and potentially proposals are necessary.
-Candidate must be capable of performing in a fast paced, dynamic environment, and working in an inclusive, team environment
-Considered a developing talent, and still a learner
-Candidate must have strong analytical and organizational skills
Candidate must have the ability to travel
Candidate must be able to obtain a security clearance

Desired skills
MS or Ph.D. degree from an accredited college in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering, or related field. Plus at least 3 years of related structures or dynamics experience in the aerospace industry.

Exposure or experience with dynamic analysis of assembly systems, subsystems, and components. Strength in dynamics analysis with a desire to learn more analytical skills.

Exposure or Experience desirable with rigid body dynamics tools (ADAMS). Experience performing structural and dynamics analysis using classical methods.

Experience with CAD modeling using PTC CREO, FORTRAN programming, NX Nastran, Abaqus, and finite element pre and post processors. Experience with Matlab and MathCAD

Proven leadership with demonstrated interpersonal skills.

Creativity/innovation to solve issues related to structural and dynamic performance of any aspect of structure. Experience developing and analyzing structures for strength and stability

Experience writing structural and component specifications, and system/subsystem/component test plans. Considered an emerging authority
