Serve as a sensor systems engineer to provide support to Army Program Executive Office Intelligence, Electronic Warfare and Sensors (PEO IEW&S). This person will be supporting several projects, both in and outside Army Programs at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD, and will include specification, design, analysis and/or testing of different sensor network architectures, technologies, and systems for MITRE customers. Candidates will work on a wide range of engineering challenges, including areas such as:


  • Perform market surveys and trade analysis leveraging systems engineering methodologies

  • Decompose capability requirements into technical and functional requirements

  • Develop technical white papers and briefings on sensor system design and development issues

  • Assess performance of fielded sensor systems against current requirements and identify gaps and recommend strategies to close the gaps

  • Develop systems engineering processes to improve technical outputs across the PEO IEW&S portfolio

  • Assist in the development of prototypes involving sensors and ISR technologies

Minimum Education:


  • BS and 3 years of related experience



  • Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant discipline

  • 5- 10 years of experience in concept development, design, testing, data analysis and interpretation, and/or acquisition processes for current military sensor systems and related technologies

  • Demonstrated experience working with Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance (ISR) technologies

  • Possess strong problem solving skills

  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Experience leading small teams

  • Experience working with the DoD intelligence community

  • Some familiarity with Electronic Warfare
