Job Details

Senior Process Automation Engineer, GEA Process Engineering Inc., Hudson, WI. Design, test, and commission industrial electrical and process automation systems including, hardware and software. Analyze project schedule and assign project tasks to team members. Ensure quality of electrical and automation team output by providing guidance, conducting engineering reviews, implementing test plans and reviewing deliverables. Design electrical control panels and control systems. Ensure product quality by designing electrical testing methods; testing finished products and system capabilities. Coordinate and inspect the activity of electricians performing system wiring both in-house (skid systems) and at customer sites. Generate detailed process Functional Descriptions (FDs) from general process descriptions handed over from the product departments. Coordinate with Team Lead Process Automation to fully understand the Process Automation standards, and to implement those concepts in the control systems. Design software applications by applying knowledge of computer programs, systems, and networks, and by coordinating the design done by subcontractors. Maintain product and company reputation by utilizing established equipment, procedures, and designs, and complying with federal, state and local regulations.40 hrs./week, Mon-Fri, 8:00 – 4:30pm.




Must have a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related, plus 5 years of post-bachelor progressive related experience working in a process automation engineering role.


Must also possess 5 years of experience with/in the following:


- Interacting with the end user to understand requirements and manage expectations;

- Working with process engineering group to design the automation system according to the process requirements;

- Project Management including risk management, scheduling, project financials, project scope and change control;

- Supervising subcontractors performing fabrication and installation work;

- Coordinating the work of the project automation team;

- Performing quality control, testing, and validation of the project deliverables;

- Commissioning process equipment at the customer site; and,

- Sales support including preparing proposals and estimation of new projects.


Travel up to 25% required.
