Job Details

Lockheed Martin seeks an experienced Mechanical Product Design Engineer for a position in Grand Prairie to support a new development program. The product scope of this activity includes mechanical design of antenna / emitter hardware and integrated electronics which are further integrated with a vehicle platform. The engineer will be involved in the development of the technical data package and interface with suppliers in development of associated hardware. The candidate will be involved in supporting the design efforts for the product and related studies and analysis. The candidate must demonstrate highly innovative approaches to resolve difficult design issues and will be responsible for refinement of conceptual designs of components, systems, and subsystems for the antenna and emitter hardware

Travel will also be required to support and provide technical assistance to potential suppliers

Other notable tasks will include:
-Development of 3D drawing models and creation/release of 2D .engineering drawings using 3D CAD Software, Pro/Engineer (CREO-3)
-Interface development and generation of Instructional Engineering Release (IER) documents
-Performance of Trade Studies and Tolerance Analysis
-Requirements derivation / decomposition
-Specification development / creation to suppliers for procured components
-Collaborate / Coordinate with other Mechanical Engineering (Structures, Thermal and M&P) and technical disciplines (Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Logistics & Sustainment Engineering), Procurement (Materials and Subcontract Management), Quality Assurance, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Operations, and potential suppliers
-Provide engineering liaison effort to support the fabrication, assembly and integration tasks associated with the product, including production process reviews, and attending supplier audits

Basic Qualifications
Candidate must be a US Citizen and have the ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret Clearance
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university, preferably in an engineering related field
Must have the ability to travel to provide technical support to suppliers and support other vendors
Mechanical Engineer with strong conceptual and detail design skills using PRO Engineer / CREO
Knowledge of mechanical drawing standards
Experience with detail, assembly, and installation type drawings
Knowledge of manufacturing and manufacturing processes
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills
Capable of performing in a fast paced, dynamic environment, capable of working in an inclusive, team environment
The candidate should have experience with Material Review Board (MRB) type experience, where disposition of discrepancy reports will be required by engineering

Desired skills
Computer Aided Design skills using PRO Engineer CREO-3 Software
Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
Knowledge of Agile PLM (for 2D drawing release)
