Job Details

Mechanical Engineer responsible for the conceptual and detail design and analysis of advanced hardware through the full product life cycle. Collaboratively work with individuals from complementary disciplines within the Engineering, Manufacturing and Sub-Contracts organizations. Apply research to the planning, design, development, and testing of new aerospace and related products. Work with little direction and develop advanced technical principles, techniques and concepts. Provide stress analysis support for product design. Specifically, must be proficient in stress analysis, finite element analysis, structural testing, structural test correlation. Must be knowledgeable in structural analysis, report writing, presentations preparation and oral delivery. Requires knowledge of related application software such as Nastran, Abaqus, NX, I-DEAS, FEMAP, Patran, HyperMesh, BetaCAE. Provide general program support toward achieving technical, schedule, and cost performance objectives for production and design engineering. Assist with production issues resolution and root cause analysis. Communicate technical status and issues to internal and external program and functional leadership. Occasional travel to provide on-site support at customer and suppliers locations

The Greater Orlando metropolitan area is the sixth largest metro area in the southeastern United States. The climate here is warm and sunny all year long for the most part. Orlando is home to the University of Central Florida (UCF), Walt Disney World, and SeaWorld. Where can you get to from Orlando? Orlando is about an hour's drive from Cocoa Beach and the "space coast" to include NASA and the Kennedy Space Center. Tampa is about 1 and ¼ hours from Orlando. West Palm Beach is about 2.5 hours to the south and Jacksonville is about 2 hours to the northeast. Atlanta, GA is 6 hours to the northwest

Basic Qualifications
-Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
-Experience in hardware design and development
-Skilled stress analyst
-Significant experience with FEA modeling
-Skilled in all Microsoft Office products
-Excellent verbal & written communication skills are a necessity
-Requires knowledge of related application software such as Nastran, Abaqus, NX, I-DEAS, FEMAP, Patran, HyperMesh and BetaCAE
-Basic knowledge of manufacturing methods
-Candidate must have an Active Secret Clearance

Desired skills
-Excellent oral and written communication skills
-Trained in root cause and corrective action analysis methods
-Ability to work multiple technical activities concurrently and working knowledge of manufacturing methods
-Sound knowledge of materials, finishes and engineering properties desired
-Understand importance of program detail schedules and task tracking/reporting
-Ability to plan and prioritize work appropriate to schedule.
-Previous Lockheed Martin experience a plus
