Job Details

Plan and/or execute high strength steel material property characterization effort. Coordinate development and documentation of test configurations (coupons, flat plates, subscale cylinders, full scale test items. Develop, generate, and coordinate material testing both in house and with suppliers. Coordinate analysis activities with internal structural analysis team and with corporate AMEs for residual stresses, fatigue assessments, crack growth characterization, Coordinate effort with internal and/or external SMEs regarding welds schedule. Coordinate effort with internal and/or external SMEs regarding development of NDI techniques. Prepare, document, and present supporting analyses/test results to customer organizations. Prepare, documents, and presents analyses/test results at IPT meetings, design reviews, PMRs, as required

The Greater Orlando metropolitan area is the sixth largest metro area in the southeastern United States. The climate here is warm and sunny all year long for the most part. Orlando is home to the University of Central Florida (UCF), Walt Disney World, and SeaWorld. Where can you get to from Orlando? Orlando is about an hour's drive from Cocoa Beach and the "space coast" to include NASA and the Kennedy Space Center. Tampa is about 1 and ¼ hours from Orlando. West Palm Beach is about 2.5 hours to the south and Jacksonville is about 2 hours to the northeast. Atlanta, GA is 6 hours to the northwest


Basic Qualifications
-Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
-Experience in hardware design and development
-Extensive experience in Materials Science
-Candidate must have experience selecting and testing of materials and fabrication processes, both in the development and use of selected materials
-Experience validating the performance characteristics and suitability of new engineering materials through analysis and laboratory testing
-Basic knowledge of manufacturing methods
-Candidate must have an Active Secret Clearance

Desired skills
-Skilled in tolerance analysis, GD&T (Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing) and precision mechanical design and documentation
-Significant experience with Pro/E CREO 3D CAD modeling or similar
-Radar absorbing materials experience
-Skilled in all Microsoft Office products
-Excellent verbal & written communication skills are a necessity
