This position is for a landing gear design engineer. A successful candidate will have a complete understanding of the principles and techniques of aircraft mechanisms, landing gear and structural design. The candidate will coordinate efforts across a wide range of functional organizations, such as Quality Assurance, Planning, Tooling, Structural Analysis, Materials & Processes, Flight Sciences, Test and Manufacturing

Responsibilities for this position include:

• Development, test, and validation of landing gear designs
• Create and maintain 3-D CATIA models, assemblies and installations, system requirements, interface/supplier control drawings, performance specifications, system checkout procedures and statements of work
• Create system requirements, trade studies, sub-component and flight test plans
• Coordinate with suppliers, internal and external integrated product teams
• Provide manufacturing, component test and ground/flight test support

Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access. Selected Applicant must have a secret clearance with an investigation within the last 5 years

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s or above Degree in an Engineering Discipline
• Experience with CATIA, Solidworks, Pro Engineer, Creo,
Unigraphics, NX or equivalent 3-D Computer Aided
Design (CAD) tool

Desired skills
• Experience in CATIA V5
• Experience in mechanism design
• Experience in landing gear design
• Experience with metallic and composite design
• Experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and
• Experience with hand stress analysis
• Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a
related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined
education, with 5 years of professional experience; or
3 years of professional experience with a related
Masters degree
