Job Details

Ergodriven uses technology to humanify the environment around us.

We believe that your environment, not willpower or conscious real-time decision making, ultimately drives your lifestyle. Our products are "80/20 rule" additions to your home or workplace to ensure that, the majority of the time, you naturally do the right things without conscious thought. Things like spending less time in a desk chair. Things like letting light control your sleep rather than sirens. Things like building natural recovery time into your day and delivering the data that shows you've worked smarter, and maybe even harder as well.

We're a small team with 40,000 existing customers, and we are increasing sales of existing products while developing and launching new ones. When you join us, you'll be working to develop and deliver products that help people be awesome. We offer the opportunity to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment where you'll have considerable control over product architecture and development together with a healthy work-life balance and a competitive benefits package. You'll have the option to work from home or at a company-sponsored shared workspace in your area.

Your Role and Responsibilities

You will be working in a distributed team that uses everything from Slack to face-to-face discussions during camping trips to keep the gears in sync. You should be comfortable collaborating in a fast-paced and often uncharted environment. We're looking for someone who is driven to achieve, diligent, technically competent, and confident in their ability to learn new skills on the fly.

We're looking for close-remote, so anywhere within a few hours of Denver is fine.

In this role, you will:

- Be a technical lead designing consumer-facing electronics hardware that "just works"
- Make key contributions along the entire technology roadmap, from hacked riskiest-assumption-tests to monitoring mass-production of your bleeding edge designs
- Initiate design reviews where you will champion architecture and implementation decisions
- Document your design decisions with clear and concise technical writing
- Thrive in a cross-functional team that stands on each other's shoulders to ship products to delighted users
- Help to regularly test and refine our assumptions and image of who our customers are

Desired Skills and Experience

- Low power / small footprint consumer-product design
- Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering
- In-depth experience with one or more functional areas such as:
---- MEMS sensors: acceleration, pressure, microphone
---- Communications: Bluetooth, Bluetooth LE, WLAN, NFC
---- SoC-based board design and compliance testing
- Familiarity working with contract manufacturers and corresponding DFM & DFT practices
- Experience working in a team outside of paid work or school. This might include sports, extracurriculars in college, volunteer work, or group hobbies.

If you like to get outside your comfort zone (or just happen to be a generalizing specialist), we'd welcome activity in areas ranging from embedded software, to market research, to suggestions for ad campaigns.
