Starkey Hearing Technologies is seeking an experienced Firmware Verification Engineer to join the Firmware Engineering Department for a full time position at our corporate headquarters in Eden Prairie, MN. The Firmware Engineering Department at Starkey Hearing Technologies is responsible for architecting, developing, and verifying firmware for DSPs and Microcontrollers that define the core functionalities of millions of hearing aids we ship worldwide. We have an abundance of initiatives in the fields of audio digital signal processing and wireless communication to provide innovative hearing solutions.

You will:

  • Design, implement and manage continuous integration, automated, manual tests based on requirements to test individual firmware features and their interactions and to ensure coverage to firmware requirements
  • Execute automated/manual tests as required, monitor test results, report and triage failed tests and system level integration issues in a timely manner with the project teams
  • Be a Subject Matter Expert of test infrastructure, implementation, requirements and use cases for firmware feature(s)
  • Technical Leadership - Lead the test planning and technical test coordination of firmware projects and represent the firmware team in cross-functional project teams. Mentor other engineers and help in the technical and professional growth of the team.
  • Process Improvements - Be a strong advocate and driver of firmware quality and test efficiency improvements

 

You will need:

  • MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field, plus five years of post-graduate industry experience or a BS in Electrical Engineering or related field, plus seven years industry experience.
  • Domain knowledge of embedded system development, embedded test methodologies and tools
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, MATLAB
  • Great oral and written communication skills
  • Must be self-driven, methodical and detail-oriented
