Job Details

The position is for an electrical designer familiar with implementation of communication protocols used in space applications. Candidate will be responsible for all aspects of hardware design, implementation and test. Scope includes, but is not limited to:
- Working with a team on communication network architecture and optimization
- Perform hardware requirements derivation, conceptual design, detailed electrical design
- Work with a team on Network Interface Card layout and drawing releases
- Develop initial prototype Network Interface Card
- Support testing of the new design
- Incorporate findings from initial prototype design into full EDU and flight designs
- Develop Worst Case Analysis, Electrical Part Stress Analysis, Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analysis, etc. for the final design
- Support flight unit production as required

Basic Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in electrical design
- Demonstrated experience with circuit analysis
-Experience with communications protocols including Ethernet, wireless (various types) and Fiber communications
- Capable of updating/revising technical documentation related to procedures using MS Office products (Excel, Word, Power Point)

Desired skills
Demonstrated experience with electrical circuit design, analysis and test
Demonstrated experience with hardware development
Demonstrated experience working in a lab environment
Experience with new electrical card layout design and new FPGA / ASIC implementation
Demonstrated experience implementing Ethernet with implementation in a space application preferred
Able to work effectively in a diverse team environment.
Demonstrated ability to act independently
Demonstrated strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills
Excellent presentation, oral and written skills
