The Senior Electrical Engineer will provide technical engineering leadership in the development and support of medical device surgical instruments during the feasibility, design, verification, validation development as well as post release phases. The incumbent develops electrical engineering specifications, identifying critical design factors which meet customer needs and regulatory requirements, designs systems and sub-systems, conducts theoretical and empirical analysis of complex core technology or electrical systems, reviews overall design specifications and experimental designs to ensure efficiency, feasibility, and compliance, participates in cross-functional teams, and improves product design and or resolve issues.

Maintain well organized laboratory notebooks in compliance with relevant procedures, support post-launch to resolve performance and or quality issuesEnsure best practices are being utilized and leading continuous improvements.

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of experience or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 3+ years of experience.
Experience in medical device specifically surgical equipment
Knowledge of FDA / ISO quality systems (specifically Design Controls / Product Development Process & 21CFR820 and related requirements
Development experience should include exposure to the design and manufacturing of cable assemblies, PCBs, power distribution, embedded software, and electro-mechanical assemblies
Experience in the design & implementation of automation technologies within the manufacturing operations leading to overall quality & efficiency improvements
Project management / leadership experience in leading and executing design changes within a regulated industry (FDA / ISO). Experience with design change processes such as Engineering Change Orders & Documentation Change Orders
Experience in the use of the following tools: OrCAD, SPICE, Layout and Schematic Capture, C++, and MS Office & ProjectsUnderstanding of product development and manufacturing methodologies to achieve high quality designs (design reliability) & yields Experience developing, writing, and conducting test plans to show that design output meets requirements and specifications
Demonstrated skills in the following areas: Electrical / systems design, design for reliability / manufacturability, CAPA, component selection, electrical system and sub-system design, design characterization, verification, and validation activities, excellent communication skills, ability to lead projects within own functional discipline, root cause analysis / problem solving
Hands-on experience with Lean Methodologies / Tools such as 3P
Experience in product Failure Mode & Effect Analysis (pFMEA) and risk analysis
