**About the Business Line**
We address the complete spectrum of energy challenges, including clean and renewable energy, energy efficiency and carbon management, hydropower and dams, thermal, geothermal and wind power generation, and transmission and distribution.
AECOM is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team based in Oakland, California. As a senior EE, you will bring at least 10 years design experience and possess the ability to make independent engineering design decisions. The majority of your time will be spent working in an office environment; however, you will be required periodically to perform field work.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
+ Assist lead Electrical Engineer, Project Managers, and our customers to ensure that electrical engineering scope of work is clearly defined for each project
+ Perform electrical design and engineering functions for natural gas compressor stations and other industrial facilities in accordance with relevant codes and standards
+ Detailed design activities including one-line diagrams, three line diagrams, DC elementary schematics, equipment specifications (conductor size, junction boxes, circuit breakers, fuses, disconnects), cable pulling calculations, voltage drop, etc.
+ Ability to perform plant level electrical studies including load flow analysis, short circuit analysis, protective coordination, and arc flash studies
+ Stamp & Seal drawings as the responsible Electrical Engineer Of Record
+ Preparation of electrical engineering reports, calculations, drawings, and studies
+ Provide engineering support during construction, start-up, and commissioning
+ Perform field investigation work in an industrial environment
+ Provide support for manufacturer Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
+ Willingness to work on electrical engineering projects that may not be directly related to HV Substation Design
+ Bachelor of Electrical of Electrical Engineering from an accredited university
+ Registered Professional Electrical Engineer in the State of California
+ 10+ years of experience, preferably in the oil and gas industry
+ Ability to use EasyPower and SKM Power Tools
+ Ability to read, understand and develop complex Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
+ Very strong knowledge of the NEC and other relevant codes and standards such as IEEE, NFPA, IEC, etc.
+ Understand electrical protective relaying & control
+ Familiar with industrial SCADA and PLC hardware and software applications
+ Knowledgeable of Major Electrical Power and Industrial System Applications
+ Ability to use computer drafting software such as Microstation and AutoCAD
+ Proven track record of working in an engineering team environment
+ Ability to meet project schedules
+ Basic knowledge of IT field networks
+ Strong problem solving skills and work efficiency
+ Ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects simultaneously
+ Not required but desirable is proven experience working on Canadian projects
+ Ability to travel as dictated by project requirements
+ Good oral communication skills
+ Able to clearly communicate to other team members and client personnel
+ Able to write clearly and concisely to prepare reports, specifications and correspondence
+ Experience in the electric power industry (transmission and distribution) would be a plus
