Job Title:Senior Electrical Engineer – Lifecycle Engineering
We are looking for a self-motivated Senior Electrical Engineer to join the Life Cycle Engineering team responsible for sustaining and implementing breakthrough improvements to on market products. This is a senior electrical engineering position responsible for design and development of low power battery operated medical devices electronics. This position must have a good understanding of both analog and digital circuit design. This position requires close cooperation with other members of electrical engineering team to accomplish project objectives. It also requires interaction with outside contract design house and vendors, manufacturing, software, mechanical, and quality groups.
The Position will report to the Electronic Systems COE and Life Cycle Engineering Leaders located at Insulet’s Headquarters in Billerica, MA.
+ Responsible for design and development of low power battery operated medical devices utilized in administrating insulin to people with diabetes as well as for other drug delivery applications.
+ Responsible for generating design requirements, schedules, risk analysis, as well as design implementation and analysis documentation.
+ Responsible for conducting design reviews, design documentation, and conformance to FDA design control guidelines.
+ Able to use engineering CAD software to generate design documentation such as schematics, BOMs, circuit simulations, and review of PCB layouts.
+ Participate in design verification and validation activities.
+ Participate in cross-functional team meetings to provide status updates, review design documentation, and design review contribution
+ Interaction with outside contract manufacturers and vendors on the qualification, test, and manufacturing of various sub-assemblies.
+ Responsible for support of manufacturing in design and development of lab and production test equipment for electrical sub-assemblies.
+ Responsible for production support as necessary
+ All other duties as assigned.
Minimum of a Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering and minimum of 5 years’ experience in electrical engineering related fields (medical device field is preferred) and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Demonstrated working knowledge of electrical engineering.
+ Demonstrated working knowledge of low power embedded design.
+ Demonstrated working knowledge of tools and instruments utilized in electrical engineering field.
+ Familiarity with FDA guidelines on design and manufacturing of the medical devices is a plus.
+ Effective verbal and written communication skills.
+ Effective troubleshooting skills.
+ Ability to communicate at multiple levels of an organization.
+ Ability to organize and judge priorities.
+ Ability to manage projects.
+ Knowledge of analog and power supply design.
+ Knowledge of digital circuit design and Microprocessors.
+ Knowledge of low power battery operating embedded system.
+ Knowledge of PCB layout design rules.
+ Familiarity with the RF design is a plus.
+ Ability to use laboratory equipment for electronics measurement.
+ Knowledge of electrical safety and EMC standards for medical devices is a plus.
+ Knowledge of FDA design control guidelines is a plus.
