Advanced Programs RF (APRF) is seeking an engineer with experience in digital signal processing algorithms and software defined radio (SDR) architectures who will generate modeling/simulations, perform trade studies, and support IRAD and CRAD programs focused on developing complex space-flight RF payloads. The individual will work closely with systems and hardware design engineers to identify key requirements which meet mission needs, perform component level trade studies, evaluate existing and emerging technologies, and construct models for simulation and algorithm verification. Also, participate in proposals for future designs. This is a high-visibility, fast-paced environment with opportunities to work a variety of mission spaces and payloads

Basic Qualifications
(1) At least 5 years experience with software defined radio (SDR) architectures and semiconductor devices such as analog to digital converters (ADCs), digital to analog converters (DACs), general purpose and embedded processors, low phase noise clock design and distribution, and frequency down-conversion approaches for RF payloads in space applications
(2) Experience with analog and digital breadboard/brassboard computer aided (CAD) design, fabrication, integration, and test
(3) Experience with systems on a chip (SoC) technologies for mixed signal applications.
(4) Significant technical depth in semiconductor device technologies, design tools, and fabrication flow (such as 14/16nm FinFET) and associated trusted foundry issues, with strong understanding of key performance drivers such as noise figure, dynamic range, effective number of bits, non-linearities, etc
(5) Bachelors in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or Computer Science or related field, with over 5 years professional experience

Desired skills
(1) Experience with technical presentations, proposal generation, and ability to write technical papers
(2) Experience with analog and digital design tools such as Cadence, Mentor Graphics, and/or Synopsys
(3) Experience with MATLAB
(4) Strong understanding of commercial semiconductor technologies and trends for variety of materials, examples being Si, SiGe, GaAs, InP, GaN. (5) Hands-on experience with printed circuit boards, chip interfaces such as SerDes and LVDS, and semiconductor packaging options - such as the use of ball grid array, flip-chip, micro-pillar, etc. for RF and digital signal processing applications
