Security Research Scientists who can think outside of the box and don’t want to do the same old thing every day. This opportunity is within the Information and Communication Lab ( ICL ). ICL conducts research that solves complex problems in areas of computer science, information technology, communications, networking, and socio-technical systems.

POSITION SUMMARY:

You will be a subject matter expert in Information Security for research in secure data exchange, identity management, trust frameworks, and trustmarks.   

REQUIREMENTS THAT MUST BE MET TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION:

  • US Citizenship AND/ OR the ability to get a security clearance
  • BS (required) or MS (preferred) in Computer Science or Information Security
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with most or all of the following
    • Basic information security practices and principles (e.g., FIPS 200)
    • Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) concepts and practices
    • Cryptography and related standards (e.g., FIPS 140-2)
    • Identity, Authentication, and Access Control concepts and practices
    • Software development and programming/coding
    • SAML, OpenID, OAuth, or OpenID Connect

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) preferred but not required
