This is a Lockheed Martin Space Systems position on the Advanced Extremely High Frequency (AEHF) Site Activation Team (SAT) / Mission Control Team (MCT) at Schriever AFB (SAFB) in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The AEHF Program develops and fields a constellation of geo-synchronous satellites to provide worldwide, secure, survivable, protected communications to Milstar and AEHF users. The AEHF SAT/MCT is responsible for conducting AEHF satellite launch readiness planning, and will perform console operations during launch, orbit raising, payload activation, and on-orbit test using Air Force Satellite Control Network (AFSCN) ground system resources and the AEHF Command and Control – Consolidated (CCS-C) ground system

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: provide a wide range of support to the AEHF MCT readiness and development activities in order to prepare for the first launch of an AEHF satellite. Successfully work towards MCT long-range goals, priorities and schedules; perform long-term planning to ensure that readiness goals are achieved; coordinate, advise and provide technical expertise with all aspects of MCT readiness activities (e.g. pass plan development, rehearsal development, test readiness, launch readiness, ground system upgrades, facility modifications); support early AEHF operations concept and technical development efforts and provide operations integration support between AEHF SAT and CCS-C ground system development. Provide technical support of AEHF spacecraft operations by successfully completing the MCT training program and achieving Operations Controller (OC) certification, perform 24/7 satellite operations, perform satellite operations planning and scheduling, monitor and analyze spacecraft telemetry data, support launch readiness events, develop satellite commanding procedures and develop telemetry display definitions

Work shift: Normal day time shift hours during readiness activities, but will require off-shift and weekend support during exercises, rehearsals, and the multi-month period of Launch/Orbit Raising/Test operations

Required Skills/Education: Associates or Bachelors degree and 2 years of satellite-related experience required. Military experience can be substituted for degree

Basic Qualifications
Demonstrated technical ability to learn in detail the AEHF satellite subsystems.
Demonstrated technical ability to perform AEHF on-orbit satellite operations
Demonstrated teamwork, communications, and inter-personal skills
Ability to receive a DoD Secret or Interim DoD Secret clearance within 6 months of hire
Must be able to work off shifts and weekends

Desired skills
Demonstrated experience performing launch or on-orbit satellite operations
Demonstrated experience analyzing satellite telemetry data
Demonstrated experience with MILSATCOM CCS-C or other C2 ground systems
Demonstrated experience with the AFSCN
Software and/or tool development experience
