This opportunity is within the Aerospace, Transportation and Advanced Systems Lab ( ATAS ). ATAS conducts research for government and industry customers in aerodynamics, radar and weapons systems, food processing technology, unmanned systems and modeling of social systems.

INTERNAL TITLE: Research Engineer/Scientist I or II, or Senior Research Engineer/Scientist


Design, Test, Model, Analyze RF Systems

Design and testing of RF systems with familiarity and experience of system ≤ 18 GHz.  RF systems analysis, radar receivers, signal processing, exciter circuitry, RF processing, circuit design, test and evaluation. 

Qualified candidate will be required to work independently as well as with system engineers.  Modeling, analysis and signal processing development efforts will require a strong understanding of RF theory with emphasis in radar applications.  Experience with basic test equipment, such as oscilloscopes and multimeters, and RF test equipment, such as spectrum analyzers and network analyzers, is required.  Experience with hardware and software for data acquisition and processing is required.  Hardware and software development efforts will include the design and integration of complex systems. 


  • US Citizenship AND/ OR the ability to get a security clearance
  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent required 
  • 2-10 years of appropriate RF / Radar industry experience.
  • Requires experience with RF test and measurement equipment, techniques, and data analysis tools. 
  • Requires project/task management, writing & presentation skills, documentation, report and proposal
