The RF Payloads Center of Excellence is seeking talented, highly motivated RF Systems engineers to join the development and build of the next generation of RF Payloads and Communication Systems.
This position will lead the RF Systems pursuit of new programs and technology development of RF Payload and communication systems as driven by the system end to end architecture. and new technology development. as part of RF Systems Engineering. The individual will participate in the design and analysis of the end-to-end systems including payload, antenna, terminals and gateways for new and on-going satellite programs. Specific tasks include :
- Develop the architecture, trades, link budgets and analysis for RF Payload or Communications systems
- Perform analysis, modeling and simulation of end-to-end RF systems to verify performance
- Develop RF/communication payload specifications and flow requirements from system/spacecraft/communication subsystem specifications to all affected RF component, antenna and bus subsystems
- Develop payload design documentation to communicate payload designs to internal design and business teams, vendors and customers
-Lead the design, fabrication, integration, and test of demonstration payloads and equipment for demonstrations
- Interface with subject matter experts and providers of various subsystem products and technologies
- Support proposal capture and development activities, receive and interpret RFI/RFPs to break down requirements into architectural concepts

Basic Qualifications
The successful Candidate will possess the following:
- BSEE or related discipline
- Significant experience with RF Payloads or Communications systems, design, development, analysis and test (minimum 10 years)
- Experience with leading multi-discipline teams (hardware/software) to produce advanced RF payloads and/or digital systems
- Experience with proposal development, technical and cost submissions
- Proven ability to develop and analyze technical requirements, perform trade studies, conduct major design reviews (e.g. PDR and/or CDR).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including a demonstrated ability to interact effectively with customers, management, and peers
- Experience with RF design communication satellite tools
- Excellent Microsoft office skills
- TS/SCI clearance
- Willingness to travel

Desired skills
- Masters or PhD degree, with emphasis on RF or Communications Engineering

Experience with high profile briefings to internal executives and customers
- TS/SCI clearance
