Advanced Programs RF (APRF) is seeking an engineer for leading the design, fabrication, integration, and test of payloads for both short-lived demonstrations and high-reliability operational capabilities. This position will require working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This role will be expected to perform the following duties for the SSC APRF Organization:
• Enable business growth by successful technical execution, innovation and customer engagement
• Support proposal capture and development activities
• Receive and interpret RFI/RFPs to break down requirements into architectural concepts.
• Collaborate with Antenna, RF, Structures, Power and other satellite subsystem leads to create competitive, winning Payload architectural solutions.
• Ensure technical performance measures (TPMs) are established and tracked

Basic Qualifications
(1) Significant experience in high-reliability RF systems as a trained certified principle engineer (CPE)
(2) Skilled in the use of lab hardware including measurement equipment and special test equipment
(3) Significant experience in a variety of sensor phenomenologies with both transmit and receive capabilities
(4) Experience with leading technical presentations, technical papers, and proposals
(5) Significant technical depth in payload transceiver design and implementation, including wideband aperture, embedded software, RF circuits, digital signal processing.
(6) Bachelors in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or Computer Science or related field

Desired skills
(1) At least 10 years experience with leading multi-discipline teams (hardware/software) to produce advanced RF payloads
(2) Experience with high profile briefings to internal executives and customers.
(3) Significant technical depth in variety of signal types spanning radar and communication protocols.
(4) At least 10 years experience leading the product development team through the requirements and preliminary design phase to procurement and delivery of brassboard prototype hardware, and possibly through to flight hardware. In doing this, experience with engaging across different lines of business to tap into digital and RF hardware engineering, experts in radiation and stress and thermal analysis, specialty engineering, procurement, planning, and quality assurance
