Digital Processor Design Engineer:
Lockheed Martin is seeking a Subject Matter Expert with experience developing high speed digital processing hardware for RF Payloads. The individual would be part of the RF Center of Excellence and work as part of a team across the enterprise to develop a strategy for RF Mission Processing. The individual will support the digital processing hardware team and work with individuals across the multiple organizations and the Lines of Business (LOB) to gather customer and mission needs and translate those into an integrated digital processing road map. The individual would be responsible to stay abreast of current market trends, internal digital processing development efforts and capabilities. The individual would support new business activities in identifying candidate processor architectures. The individual will participate in working with algorithm designers to understand the scope of the algorithm work and determine the processing support required for those algorithms. The individual would execute product development plans set forth by the digitial hardware lead.

Primary Strategic Digital Processing Lead Responsibilities:
• Participate as a senior member on a digital processing development teams to leverage synergies in the RF COE and with other processing areas within SSC
• Perform research and analysis that supports the definition of a RF Digital Processing roadmap that takes advantage of current and future marketplace trends and capabilities to satisfy current and future mission needs
• Identify technology risk areas and develop and execute technical risk mitigation plans
• Decompose top level Unit requirements into subassembly requirements
• Assist the Digital processing lead in schedule and cost management
• Assist in developing processing approaches in support of RFI and RFPs including defining a baseline processor architecture, creating winning proposal write-ups, and establishing program cost baselines
• Execute product development tasks

Depending on candidate, the position can be located in Littleton, CO, Sunnyvale CA or the El Segundo, CA area.

Basic Qualifications
* Candidate shall possess a degree in engineering, or the hard sciences (e.g. physics), with greater than 7 years’ experience
* Experience in electrical design
* Experience with digital processor requirements, development and application
* Significant Experience in Unit requirements decomposition
* Capable of updating/revising technical documentation using MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
* Experience in engineering and development through the product life-cycle
* Must have the ability to obtain a SCI clearance

Desired skills
• SCI security clearance
• Experience in digital processing, with greater than 2 years’ experience
• Greater than 5 years' experience in RF Payloads products
• Experience in the development of flight hardware
• Proven ability to juggle multiple, high-priority items
• Demonstrated ability to build cross-organizational and customer relationships
• Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written, with the proven ability to communicate to all levels internally and externally
• Electrical Engineering degree
