Job Details

Lockheed Martin Advanced Programs

The well qualified candidate is a recognized Subject Matter Expert (SME), with an advanced understanding of electromagnetic theory, including RF circuits, antennas, radar cross section reduction, and scattering. This expertise may be evidenced by academic coursework at the advanced graduate level or equivalent experience

The candidate will possess a firm understanding of supporting topics including: RF electronics, avionics/mission systems, computational electromagnetics, statistical detection theory and heat transfer. That understanding should be at the level of an advanced undergraduate or higher.

The candidate will have practical skills that allow him/her to make hands-on contributions in the above fields. This should including familiarity with EM design software including ANSYS HFSS, CST Microwave Studio, or FEKO and/or experience with RF instrumentation (vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and related equipment). The candidate should be very comfortable with one or more standard programming tools (e.g., Matlab, C, VB, etc.) to accomplish such tasks as data post-processing, link analysis, and simple system simulations. Experience with and an understanding of range measurements (both signature and antenna performance) is a benefit

The candidate should have strong communication skills. A demonstrated ability to communicate both verbally and in writing is required as evidenced by prior final reports and technical briefings to large (possibly adversarial) groups. An ability to explain complex technical concepts in a readily comprehensible manner is an advantage

The candidate should have experience preparing successful technical proposals. This will include the ability to (1) perceive customer needs, (2) develop a compelling technical approach to meeting those needs, (3) clearly and concisely describe a plan for implementing the technical approach, and (4) provide reasonable cost/schedule estimates for the work required.

The candidate will be expected to develop and execute R&D plans to meet needs defined by management or by the customer. The candidate will typically work without technical direction, but he/she may be called upon to provide technical direction for others. Experience in managing small teams is a benefit

Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.”
