GTRI/CTISL seeks a highly motivated individual with 0-10 years of work experience to support assessment of domestic and foreign RF communications technology, systems and components.   Technical disciplines that may be required in these efforts include transmitter/receiver design, test and evaluation of RF systems, reverse engineering, circuit design/analysis, communications theory, digital signal processing, RF signal collection and analysis, protocol-layer analysis and simulation, embedded system programming, and countermeasures and vulnerability analysis for RF systems.  Skills in reverse engineering, computer programming, software radio, or working with test and measurement equipment are a plus. 

Required Capabilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Related Field
  • Ability to earn a Master’s degree within five years of employment
  • Familiarity with design and/or testing of RF communications systems
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment
  • Ability to follow Georgia Tech policies and procedures
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to obtain and hold a DoD security clearance

 

Desired Capabilities:

  • 3+ years of related work experience
  • Master’s degree
  • Experience with design and/or testing of RF communications devices
  • Familiarity with a variety of modulation and coding schemes
  • Familiarity with frequency hop communications systems
  • Familiarity with communication protocols used in RF communications systems
  • Experience with developing countermeasures against RF communications systems (jamming, spoofing, replay attacks, etc.)
  • Experience with software reverse engineering tools (IDA, advanced debuggers, etc.)
  • Experience using software defined radios (X-MIDAS, GNU radio)
  • Experience working with the U.S. government, including the Department of Defense and the Intelligence Community
  • Active U.S. security clearance
