Job Details

This position is for a Printed Circuit Board/Circuit Card Assembly (PCB/CCA) Design Engineer for the Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company (SSC) PCB/CCA group. PCB designs range from 2 layer quick turn test boards to space qualified high layer count rigid/flex backplanes with blind/buried/micro vias.

The candidate will primarily be responsible for schematic capture, printed circuit board layout/routing, drawing creation and release. The position commands great interpersonal communication skills to work with electrical and mechanical engineers, and possibly with manufacturing personnel throughout the process of design and through to delivery.

Primary PCB development tool is Altium Designer v17, secondary tool is Zuken CR-8000. Experience with high frequency RF designs to include Stripline picket fencing for line-to-line isolation, RF line phase matching, embedded bare die (Chip and Wire) with bond wire launches with intermixed RF, Digital and Power distribution all on the same board.

Other tool usage for signal integrity, documentation control and inspection, and regular MS-Office tools will be necessary as well

Basic Qualifications
-Experience using Altium Designer
-Experience with RF PWB/CCA design
-Mixed SMT and Chip & Wire automated assembly processes and procedures
-Basic knowledge of design and fabrication specifications such as IPC-2221/2222 and IPC-6012
-Basic understanding of electrical engineering concepts as applied to PCB/CCA design and assembly, signal integrity (SI), and power integrity (PI)

Desired skills
-Experience with layout and routing in Zuken CR-5000 and or CR-8000
-Experience with Blueprint for PCB fabrication and assembly drawing creation
-Experience designing space electronics
-High speed digital/mixed signal routing experience
-Rigid-flex layout experience
-Basic understanding of PCB fabrication and assembly processes
