Description: The Information and Communications Laboratory (ICL) at the Georgia Tech Research Institute is actively seeking a Research Scientist I. The position is for a detail oriented research scientist contributing to home based research (HomeLab) and other human factors related projects.  The applicant will be responsible for maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail with respect to duties associated with recruitment, management, and execution of research studies.  The applicant will be expected to develop and follow research protocols, perform literature reviews, edit and produce research reports, perform human factors analyses, perform human factors research, develop training materials and organize lab documentation.  The applicant will be expected to coordinate small teams of researchers and students in order to execute assigned projects.  The applicant will be expected to develop and maintain a rapport with research participants to facilitate data collection.  Evidence of attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple ongoing projects is necessary.  Preference will be given to applicants who have experience in working with older populations or populations with disabilities.   The applicant will also be responsible for contributing to other research projects and assisting in health, human performance, and design related projects.  The applicant will be encouraged to explore their research interests that are in line with laboratory objectives and to eventually develop work in those areas.  The applicant will contribute to proposals and assist in business development as requested. 


Education: BS or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience: Candidate must have experience in research studies, data analysis, coordinating and managing research teams, writing technical reports.  The candidate should be proficient in Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, Excel, SPSS, EndNote and Asana.

Skills: Candidates must have the ability to manage research projects, make technical presentations, contribute to proposals, and work independently.

Other: Candidate must be a US citizen capable of holding a DoD Security clearance, active clearance a major plus.
