WDI R&D is responsible for the creative and technical development, as well as application of techniques & technologies that enables new guest experiences. R&D Imagineers wear multiple hats on many projects at any given moment, it reflects the adaptive creative and technical organization, and shepherding the work through R&D and into application. This generally involves definition of the strategic or creative vision, technical requirements, and/or user experience for new R&D projects and may include various elements of creative development, technical application/park & Disney experience. R&D Imagineers constructively disrupt the business and keep 'heads up to solve problems and bring new ideas'.

+ Lead disruptive development of advanced capabilities for autonomous legged creatures
+ Stay current with latest advances in robotics, actuation, sensing
+ Deepen your knowledge of complex integrated robotic systems and their components
+ Practice strongverbaland writtencommunication skills
+ Work independently and in highly diverse and multidisciplinary project teams, and with external partners
+ Deploy rapid experimental iterations, with agile development
**Basic Qualifications :**
+ 3 - 5 years hands-on experience with advanced robotics systems
+ Demonstrated knowledge, project portfolio and past successes
+ Expert analog/power/digital design and layout
+ Hands-on expertise troubleshooting using state of the art test equipment
+ Grounding, shielding and noise management/mitigation in distributed, mixed high/low power systems
+ BLDC and brush motors, board-level understanding of motor drives, motor-drive interactions and tuning, reflected inertias, specification, sizing, selection, interfacing
+ Battery systems and management, power, energetics, charging for autonomous systems
+ Expertise and experience with robotics sensors and their interfaces
+ High speed communication busses, their protocols, and interface hardware/software/firmware
+ Hands-on experience with coding hard real-time control loops, interfacing to motors/sensors
+ Firmware development, VHDL
+ Electromechanical components, wiring, shielding, connectors
**Preferred Qualifications :**
+ Realtime software architecture development and implementation
+ Robot legged locomotion, balance, posture, gaits, gait planning, kinematics, dynamics, simulation
**Required Education :**
+ High school diploma or equivalent
**Preferred Education :**
+ BS (MS or PhD preferred) in Electrical Engineering
