Job Details

Do you want to start a high technology company? Do you need the support, resources, training and space to do it?

The Quantum Technology Enterprise Centre (QTEC) has ten fellowships available to start in October 2017.

As a Quantum Enterprise Fellow, you will be part of a one year, cohort-based, programme focussed on implementing; building and developing a business. You will attend taught courses covering aspects of systems thinking and design, enterprise and entrepreneurship. As a fellow your business will be based upon a technology you have the right to work with and the drive to turn into a commercial success.

You will receive a £26,000 salary, a £5,000 travel budget and access to start-up funding. Additionally you will be provided with incubator space and experienced guidance from our Entrepreneurs in Residence and mentorship programmes.

QTEC represents a world-first for quantum enterprise training. As part of the University of Bristol’s multi-disciplinary Quantum Engineering Technology Labs (QET Labs), this high profile and unique training centre, funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), builds upon the already successful Quantum Engineering Centre for Doctoral Training (QE-CDT) and is partnered with Cranfield University's Bettany Centre for Entrepreneurship, creating a world-leading Centre to train entrepreneurially-minded, quantum systems engineers, ready for a career in the emerging quantum technology industry.

In addition to our standard University application you are asked to complete an additional application form. You are asked to upload this with your on-line application.

The closing date for applications is 23:59 on Sunday 21st May 2017.

For more information, please refer to the Job Description or for more informal information, please contact the QTEC team (qtec-enquiries@bristol.ac.uk) or visit www.bristol.ac.uk/qtec to view upcoming events and open days.

Requirements

This programme is suitable for those who have either just completed a BSc/MSc/PhD in an electronic, photonic, physics and quantum based discipline. The most valuable qualification will be the desire to start a company in the high technology sector and a commitment to making it happen.

We are supportive of applications from members of the UK National Quantum Technologies Programme.
