Job Description:

The Quantum Systems Division (QSD) at GTRI is seeking an experimentalist to contribute to ongoing programs in trapped-ion quantum information processing and neutral atom quantum sensors.  Candidates must have a Ph.D. in physics, engineering, or chemistry and have research experience in complex AMO measurements and experiment design. Experience with lasers and optics, electronics design, cryogenics, experimental automation and control systems, electromagnetic modeling, and methods in quantum information and sensing is recommended. The QSD group conducts research in quantum information sciences and engineering with experiments investigating ion transport, ion chains, single and multi-qubit gates, cryogenic trapping, and novel trapping structures. The group is actively involved in conferences, national and international collaborations, and has a growing list of publications in the quantum information field. 

Requirements

Education: Ph.D. in Physics, Engineering, or Chemistry

Experience:  Candidates should have at least 2-3 years graduate or professional experience in complex AMO measurements and experiment design. Experience with lasers and optics, electronics design, cryogenics, experimental automation and control systems, electromagnetic modeling, and methods in quantum information and sensing is recommended.

Other: Candidate must be a US citizen, capable of holding a DoD Security clearance.
