Project Specialist for AEGIS New Construction Post-delivery projects on Ship Integration and Test contracts

Selected candidate will be part of the Ship Integration and Test (SI&T) team supporting Camden, NJ AEGIS operations

The Project Specialist will lead technical and programmatic tasking from NAVSEA, PEO IWS, and MDA representatives

Coordinate customer interactions at program and technical reviews

Participate in the Technical Data Package (TDP) process for new construction post-delivery projects

Position will involve daily interface with PEO IWS, NSWC-DD, NSWC-PHD, AEGIS New Construction shipyards, and the Missile Defense Agency

Position will also involve close interaction with Design engineering, Production programs, Program Management, LM Finance, and LM Contracts

Position will entail occasional travel to SI&T locations in Bath, ME; Washington, DC; Norfolk, VA; Pascagoula, MS; San Diego, CA; and between LM campuses in the Southern NJ area

Basic Qualifications
Ability to lead technical and programmatic tasking from NAVSEA, PEO IWS, and MDA representatives

Ability to coordinate customer interactions at program and technical reviews

Position requires strong initiative characteristics and exceptional teaming skills

Position requires daily interface with PEO IWS, NSWC-DD, NSWC-PHD, AEGIS New Construction shipyards, and the Missile Defense Agency

Position requires close interaction with Design engineering, Production programs, Program Management, LM Finance, and LM Contracts

Position requires demonstrated ability to lead cost estimating tasks and to lead planning efforts for SI&T engineering services projects

Position requires occasional travel to SI&T locations in Bath, ME; Washington, DC; Norfolk, VA; Pascagoula, MS; San Diego, CA; and between LM campuses in the Southern NJ area

Minimum 3 years experience in design, integration, and/or installation engineering with knowledge of CG 47, DDG 51, and/or FMS Aegis or other USN surface ship combat system equipment and land site simulators

Knowledge of interface protocols, system design criteria, equipment interactions, major signal flows, and USN Shipbuilding Specifications

Desired skills
Familiarity with AEGIS Combat System and BMD systems

Familiarity with AEGIS post delivery availability work scope (PSA/PDA)

Familiarity with the latest applicable Military Specifications for electrical and optical cable, connector, backshell, and system design, integration, and integrity testing

Knowledge of Military Specifications and Standards related to bonding and grounding of equipment on Navy Ships, MIL-STD-1310, MIL –STD-1399, and MIL-STD-901D (shock)

Knowledge of Military Specifications and Standards related to ship cooling systems and components

Prior operational experience in the Aegis fleet

Demonstrated expertise with Earned Value Management techniques and application. Demonstrated ability to lead workforce planning tools (GRID)

PMP certification or study

Knowledge of the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBoK)
