Project Scheduler with E2 Consulting Engineers, Inc. (Los Angeles, CA):

Plan, direct, and coordinate activities concerned with the construction and maintenance structures, facilities, and systems. Participate in the conceptual development of construction projects and oversee organization, scheduling, budgeting, and implementation. Support project team in the execution of project controls processes and systems on mid-level projects. Under supervision, using independent judgment competently performs project control activities, change management, cost management and schedule management, executed in a timely fashion and in accordance with all company and client standards. Develop estimates, schedules, and budgets under the direction of a lead project controls engineer. Support creation of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and development of schedules and budget data (including resource loading) for those WBS elements. Analyze unit rates to the extent that the estimate to complete unit rates is well understood and defendable. Analyze schedule progress and performance and identify developing problem areas. Assemble and compile schedule and cost data and inputs into the project control database and provide output to the project team. Analyze critical path and restraints to determine the effect of changes to the schedule; recommend work-arounds. Advise management of risks that may affect project profit, costs, schedules and client relations. Support the Project Management team in maintaining timely and effective change management processes, procedures and systems. Prepare and maintain periodic (daily, weekly, monthly) status reports, including labor productivity reports, schedule status reports, financial analysis reports, Cost Performance Reports (CPR), and earned value curves reports on direct or indirect construction activities; maintain all subsidiary reports such as personnel staffing and release schedules, equipment schedules, etc. to facilitate good cost projections (EAC); ensure that all commitments and invoices are accurately reported into the cost system; participate in the development of Project Completion Reports, including the evaluation of all subcontractors and major vendors; incorporate field schedules in the Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB); and assist with quantity tracking and retrieving project data from subcontractors.

Requires Bachelor's or Master's in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Project Management, or related.

Progressive, post-bachelor's experience is required (5 years with Bachelor's or 2 years with Master's), must include some experience with: project management software including Primavera Project Planner (P6), Access, and Microsoft Project; custom construction report creation using Microsoft Excel and Adobe Pro; cost engineering and project control principles including budgeting, monitoring and tracking actual costs, change orders, and forecasting; contract types including cost plus and FFP; and creating construction schedules using CPM methodology.
