Project Manager

Seattle Safety is looking to fill a full-time Project Manager at our Auburn, WA plant. This position will coordinate between departments for projects starting from concept to full production build and testing. The position is the liaison between the company and customers. The Project Manager is responsible for managing the scope, planning, tracking and coordination of small projects and crash lab project implementation. Work is performed in an office environment and includes hands-on work in a low volume manufacturing setting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Leads Seattle Safety departments and customer through all project deliverables outlined in the contract scope.
  • Respond to customer requests in a timely manner which involves coordinating with applicable departments
  • Sets baseline schedules based on current workload for engineering, production, shipping and installation.
  • Monitors progress through each project phase as defined in the project schedule.
  • Ensures all project issues and risks are tracked, managed, and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Ability to meet goals and prioritize as necessary to handle multiple projects simultaneously and under challenging conditions and deadlines.
  • Documents and reports changes to the project schedule or scope to stakeholders.
  • Ensures all necessary documentation has been provided and all billing milestones are met.
  • Coordinates with installation/service department to obtain lab acceptance.
  • Provides continuous improvement and documentation of improved project processes.
  • Travel up to 15% to customer sites both domestic and international.


Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in a technical field.
  • 2-3 years of project management experience; or equivalent combination of education.
  • Must have excellent written, oral, and presentation skills and ability to read, write and understand English.

Computer Skills:

Microsoft Word; advanced Excel skills; order processing systems; Project Management Software and Internet. Proficiency with Microsoft Project is preferred.

Physical Demands:

Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and reach.

Work Environment:

Working near moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is generally moderate.
