The CH-53K Program is looking for a talented and highly motivated aircraft Project Engineer to join the dynamic and fast paced team working to deliver Sikorsky’s first 21st Century designed aircraft to the US Marines and prospective international customers. The 53K program is transitioning from detailed design and development to low rate initial production (LRIP). The next major milestones are Initial Operating Capability and First Unit Equipped. The main responsibilities are technical leadership for: i) technical issue resolution and coordination with the Production team to ensure full capability for IOT&E and ii) execution of the SDD Program to achieve full specification compliance within cost and schedule commitments.

The Project Engineer will responsible for integration management to resolve technical issues to close out the System Design and Development program to meet IOT&E, IOC and LRIP milestones.

During execution of activities, the Project Engineer will be expected to drive the closure of technical issues by developing and executing project plans through delivery of final production solutions to production with zero technical escapes, on time and on budget, using enterprise tools such as EVMS, risk management, and actionable project execution tracking metrics

The Project Engineer is required to manage the interaction with internal and external suppliers critical to execution of the 53K development and production program. The PE is also required to interface with company disciplines including program management, supply chain management, contracts, operations, supportability, and quality

Basic Qualifications
BS degree in an engineering discipline is required. Formal education in System Engineering and/or Manufacturing Engineering is a plus. MS is preferred

This job requires an understanding of the operation and interrelationships of aircraft systems; an appreciation for the impact that configuration or requirements changes may have on, cost and schedule; project management skills; and communication skills

7+ years of experience in the analysis, design and/or manufacturing support of helicopter systems is required

Desired skills
Ability to communicate effectively is required to interact with program levels form aircraft build technicians to Program Management and externally with the customer. Additionally, the Project Engineer is required to adapt to rapidly changing priorities and evolving program constraints and boundary conditions.

Some travel required (15%), specifically to Pax River MD to meet with customer and to WPB during aircraft build and delivery phases
