The LCS Sustainment Warranty Engineer will work aboard their assigned ship as the Lockheed Martin representative to investigate, and when practical, repair warranty-related equipment issues. They will sail aboard when the ship is underway from Sailaway through the Guaranty Period. This person shall coordinate the activities of the Industry Team supporting Sail-Around, and shall be the single LCS point of contact for all issues pertaining to the operation and support of the ship during the Guaranty Period. They are expected to perform the following tasks:
- Coordinate operational and support issues with the customer, the ship’s crew, and the Lockheed Martin Sustainment Team
- Maintain a status of equipment casualties and repairs
- Perform testing, troubleshooting, and repair of LCS equipment, and be able to effect minor repairs with little, or no, assistance
- Assist other engineers, technicians troubleshooting, and repairs
- This position is expected to work from the ship inport and underway
- Requires significant travel (approx. 50%) to support both changing ship locations (Marinette, Norfolk/Hampton, Mayport, & San Diego), and will be expected to embark the ships for underway events of varying durations

Basic Qualifications
1. Minimum of 5 years in relevant experience coordinating the troubleshooting and maintenance of shipboard equipment.
2. 10 years of experience troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing ship systems:
a. Effective knowledge of ship hull, mechanical and electrical systems implementation, and integration
b. Effective knowledge of ship navigation, communication, and combat systems implementation and integration
3. Ability to research design and implementation issues, read and translate ship drawings, and communicate implementation approaches and deficiencies
4. Prior experience with associated test equipment to include radio frequency (RF) generators, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and spectrum analyzers
5. Ability to build effective relationships with Ship’s Crew and Navy customers

Desired skills
1. Licensed USCG Chief Engineer preferred. USN DEI/GTI/SGPI experience is a plus
2. US Navy leadership experience in an engineering or combat systems maintenance role
3. Prior experience monitoring ship HM&E equipment such as propulsion plant, electric plant, damage control or safety equipment systems.
4. Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot in a shipyard environment
5. Knowledge of LCS Program, the ship, and its systems
6. Certified IAW Mil-Std-2003-5A
7. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Naval Architecture, or Marine Engineering or equivalent ship development or naval engineering education and experience
