THAAD Development Program, ACD Software Capability Lead

The Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) ACD Software Capability Lead reports directly to the THAAD ACD Project Manager with the following major roles and responsibilities:
• Execution and management of all Software Capability development scope on the ACD TO-45 contract working directly with Program Leadership and Component and Element Program / Project Managers
• Monitor contract financial performance, identifies risk/threats/opportunities to budget baseline and develops/implements corrective action plans as required to ensure performance to budget baseline
• Support and drive the development content in TO-45 related change proposals

Additional Responsibilities include:
• Reviewing contract modifications and ensuring contract is being executed in accordance with requirements
• Working with Component Managers to ensure resources are made available to support Software Capability development activities
• Communicating with executive management status, issues, and issue resolution
• Work closely with new business team to ensure new efforts are scoped appropriately and are executable
• Coordinating future development scope with MDA customer and shaping the contract requirements to ensure appropriate support is established for the customer
• Coordinate/Communicate Software Capability Development activities with MDA customer

The candidate must be able to work effectively in fast paced and dynamic environments. The candidate must be able to lead effectively across all business functions. Project management and cross functional leadership skills are requisite to success in this position

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education with commensurate years of professional experience
• Experience leading projects, teams, and/or software development efforts
• Previous experience as a primary representative to external stakeholders and/or collaborations efforts with a government customer
• Excellent written, verbal and briefing/presentation and communications skills; ability to travel as required
• Motivated self-starter, with high attention to detail and the ability to multi-task
• Must have an interim Secret security clearance prior to start
• Experience generating/monitoring software development schedules and software build plans

*This position requires special access to support the program and requires the selected candidate to be a US Citizen. At a minimum, an Interim Secret clearance is required

Desired skills
• Familiarity with THAAD weapon system elements, capabilities and CONOPS
• Experience in proposal development and customer negotiation
• Strong organization, analytical, and interpersonal skills
• Proactive, able to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment
• Experience managing subcontracts or IWTA activity
• Able to develop process improvements for the assigned team and look for ways to implement in the organization
• Ability to manage escalations and appropriately communicate to all stake-holders and executive staff
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field preferred
• Demonstrated experience with metrics collection and analysis
• Capture Process, Program Management, Risk Management, Subcontract Program Management and Negotiation experience or training desired
