Do you want to contribute to a high-impact team supporting an exciting new project?  This individual will the lead activities of a small project team to help modernize a critical IT system for a dedicated law enforcement sponsor.  The individual will work side-by-side with members of the law enforcement sponsors team.  The individual must have excellent sponsor engagement skills and be able to support and lead tasks that encompass the full acquisition lifecycle to include: acquisition, program management, programmatic, and other related services to assist in planning for, obtaining, implementing, maintaining, managing and refining the services, technologies, and processes required to identify and acquire a new IT system.


Key Functions:

  • Act as the day-to-day onsite liaison with sponsor staff.

  • Lead a multi-disciplined project team to execute tasks on time and within budget and scope.

  • Work to ensure compliance with system specifications, security requirements, and agency expectations.

  • Support the translation of sponsor requirements into high quality, easily understood operational and technical specifications.

  • Identify and mitigate issues and risks through continuous technical and management oversight of activities throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Support the implementation and rapid transfer of new information system technologies, tools, processes, and techniques into the sponsor environment.

  • Provide support in the management of support contractor quality, schedule, cost, and technical performance.

  • Provide technical input, expertise, guidance, and support of the project, to include the analysis of project trends; business and technical risk management planning; assessments of the adequacy of project baselines; review of support contractor deliverables, plans, procedures, and milestones; and the development of recommendations to the sponsor.

  • Liaise with various stakeholders to assess user involvement and gain buy-in regarding information system functionality, interoperability, and ability to meet program needs.

  • Maintain responsibility for the timely delivery project reports, briefs, other deliverables as assigned.

  • Collaborative leadership approach

  • Over 15 years experience with IT systems technology

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated experience successfully leading teams supporting complex IT systems projects for government organizations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project Management Professional certification

  • Masters Degree

  • Recent and relevant technical certifications and/or trainings

  • Experience working in support of the law enforcement community
