Product Manager - Core Services (athenahealth, Inc.; Austin, Texas) The Product Manager – Core Services is responsible for assisting Product Management leaders with one product area within his or her overarching Product’s portfolio and understanding the market opportunities and customer needs. The Product manager – Core Services will contribute to product vision, developing business cases, ensuring a product or set of product features meets business requirements, and driving the creation and delivery of the product by assisting Product Management Leaders. This position will work daily within scrum teams defining and writing user stories, prioritizing product backlogs, and making trade-off decisions between scope and schedule. Specific duties include: assist Product Management leaders in Identifying business opportunities that will drive product success including pricing or build/buy decisions; contribute to the development of overall product management team by lending knowledge and experience to teach others; understand market opportunity while considering user needs, market forces, and applicable business models; define epics and user stories, clearly articulating business requirements for the problems being solved including UX/CX/Support requirements; identify and track metrics and success criteria to create transparency and visibility, ensuring program success and identifying opportunities for improvement; represent the customer for an assigned product area, demonstrating responsibility for end-to-end customer journey and touchpoints; establish effective relationships with key stakeholders across athena to streamline process of gathering ideas and input that improve product decisions; and provide input to PRSM/portfolio planning process for assigned product area. Travel required, up to 30%.

Requirements

Minimum requirements: Master’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field, and two years of experience in product management.

 

Must have: Ability to influence horizontally and vertically, inside and outside of athena; experience working with various cross-functional groups throughout the software development process; demonstrated technical understanding of mobile, SaaS, and data; demonstrated experience bringing products to market in an Agile environment; proven experience working with stakeholders in a business environment and working across cross-functional groups; strong negotiation and problem solving skills; ability to work independently and as part of an extended, cross-functional team; and demonstrated experience using analytical and quantitative capabilities to drive success.
