The procurement engineer role in the organization is responsible for working collaboratively with the Precision Fires Line of Business (with the other Line of Business Integrators and the Program GSC Directors) to integrate Global Supply Chain (GSC) strategic initiatives into the business rhythms and supply chain, as well as propagate best practices across MFC.

Additionally, the procurement engineer will actively partner with Precision Fires GSC leadership to drive affordability, risk mitigation, issue resolution, and continuous improvement, within and across the supply chain.
The procurement engineer is also responsible for the execution of any special projects assigned by the LOB Global Supply Chain Directors
Collaborate with colleagues in other functional areas to develop processes, procedures or solutions that address significant program challenges affecting technical and delivery issues at suppliers
The procurement engineer will partner with our Supplier Quality organization to identify areas of collaborative improvement.
Travel is ~25% or less of the time

Basic Qualifications
Qualified candidates will have experience in the following areas:
- establishing effective relationships with internal teams and external supplier teams
- utilization of tools and techniques that will help solicit risk identification and opportunity realization
- assessing supplier's business, process and technical/quality capabilities
- proactively seek out opportunities to bring performance to improved levels
- understands manufacturing and assembly processes
- successfully identifying operational causes to low performance and building plans to improve
- experience with Risk Identification and Management as well as Affordability/Cost Step Down Initiatives.
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Green Belt

Desired skills
Certified LSS Black belt.
Supply Chain & Multi-functional interaction experience
Experience with new start-up program development programs, as well as follow-on order programs
Understanding of MFC supply chain processes and organizational business rhythms
Strong balance of technical, operational, and business acumen
Experience working in different geographic locations
Developing and mentoring suppliers to improve performance
Experience assessing supplier’s business, process and technical/quality capabilities and identifying issues and risks
Experience proactively seeking out opportunities to mitigate supply chain risk
Understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes
