Thales Visionix in Aurora IL is seeking a full time Principal Systems Engineer.

Responsibilities:

  

The systems engineers are responsible for the integration and sub-contract management of a number of elements within the electro-optical system being developed for the aerospace industry. The system engineer will be exposed to a variety of technologically demanding areas within the aerospace sector. The systems engineers are required to perform systems integration, verification and validation, technical planning, cost and risk and supportability and effectiveness analyses for helmet mounted display systems and avionics.

 

Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation and operation. Performs functional analysis, time-line analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Must be capable of working independently on assigned task.
  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • 5+ years related experience required.
  • Knowledge of DO-254, DO-160 and DO-178.
  • Must have excellent written, oral, and communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Candidates responding to this posting must currently possess the eligibility to work in the United States.

This position requires substantial domestic and international travel (~50%)
